Tripping or Balance Issues
Fungal infections commonly affect the nails and skin. Fungal nail infections (also known as onychomycosis) are a common condition of the nails and often cause thickening, discolouration, splitting or crumbling of the nail plate. A fungal nail infection is caused by a build-up of fungi (microorganisms) that infect your nails. Sometimes the nail changes shape and there can be a build-up of dead skin under the nail plate. You might first notice it as a small spot or odd looking colour on the top of your nail.
